GOD DOES EVERY THING FOR OUR GOOD
GOD DOES EVERYTHING FOR OUR GOOD
Begin with a minute’s
silence and daily prayers.
The value of the day
is God’s Presence.
Think and Talk
God is present
everywhere. He is always ready to listen to you. You can pray to him at any
place and at any time. Pray to him for driving away all evil thoughts from your
mind. Pray to him to help you get rid of your anger. Pray to him for things
that make your life better and happier.
God can take any
form. If we are mean or rude to the poor old man, we will be rude to God. We
need to treat can person with the same respect and kindness that we would show
God. This is because God is there inside everyone. We know that God is there
when we see the good actions of people.
We often question
God’s wisdom, when things go wrong. But if we think calmly, we will find that
the thing that seemed so wrong to us proved to be a blessing afterward.
One day, a king and
his minister went to a forest for hunting. They tried to find some animals to
hunt but they did not see a single animal.
“Never mind, Your Majesty, whatever happens, is for our good only.”
The king and minister
now rode deep into the forests. They found some mango trees there. Both of them
were hungry. The king plucked a mango and began to cut it with a knife. The
knife slipped and cut his finger. Blood started flowing out. The minister tore
a strip of cloth from his shirt and tried it around the finger of the king. He
then said to the king, “Never mind, Your Majesty, whatever happens, is for our
good only.”
On hearing this, the
king became very angry. He shouted, “I am dying of pain and you say it is all
for my good. You are a fool to say this. Leave this place immediately.”
The poor minister
rode away sadly. The king now galloped off alone. He had gone a little distance
when some robbers surrounded him. They took the king to their chief.
Their chief said, “We
will sacrifice you to the Goddess.” The chief of the robbers asked his priest
to make arrangements for the sacrifice. The priest examined the king carefully.
“We cannot sacrifice
this man,” said the priest to the chief. The chief asked him, “Why?”
“We need a man
without any injury mark on his body. This man has a cut finger. He is not fit
for the sacrifice.” The chief of the robbers then set the king free. The king
was very happy. Now he remembered the words of his minister.
He said to himself,
“Whatever happens is for our good only. If I had not cut my finger, I would
have been killed by the robbers.”
“I should not have
been so rude to my minister. I should apologize to him.”
The king searched for
his minister. He found him sitting under a tree. The king ran to him and said,
“I am sorry for treating you so badly.” He then told him what had happened to
him.
“Thank God, you are
safe,” said the minister.
“Everything that
happens is for our good. If you had not ordered me to go away, The robbers
would have caught me. They would have sacrificed me. I do not have even a
scratch on my body. God has saved both of us.”
“Whatever you are saying is true, now let us thank God for His Mercy,” said the king.
