The Fox and the Crow Once upon a time, there was a big forest near a river. A fox was leaving there with his neighbor. One day, the fox saw a crow with a piece of cheese in his beak. The fox was very hun­gry and thought, “How can I get the piece of cheese?” He thought for a while. Soon, he got an idea in his tricky mind. He decided to flatter the crow and thus began praising him. He said to the crow, “You are such a pretty and clever bird! Your voice is so sweet. I am impressed with your voice. If only you could sing as beautifully for me then it will be my pleasure!” Now, the crow was very proud. He wanted to show the fox that he could sing very well. So he opened his mouth to sing and give a shout! The piece of cheese he was keeping with his beak fell into the ground. The fox laughed at the crow and picked up the cheese. The Crow IDEA It was a hot summer day. A crow was very thirsty. The wild area it lived in had no water body. All the ponds and springs had dried up. It could not fly to another far of the jungle. But it badly needed water to drink. It flew in search of water towards a nearby town. The water was always available in human settlements. The crow saw a water pitcher placed near a tree by the side of the house. It flew down and perched on the pitcher rim.  A peep down revealed some water at the bottom. It was too below the reach of its beak. It pondered over the situation. How to get to the water? An idea struck it. It began to pick pebbles from the ground and drop them one by one into the pitcher.  The water level rose and reached a level where its beak could reach the water easily. The crow quenched its thirst and flew away happily.
