THE MARBLE

The value for the day is Self-control

Children, never try to get angry. Anger can destroy many things. It can destroy our friendship with others. Anger brings hatred amongst each other. We destroy things that we will be sorry about later. But we cannot take back what we have said or done.

We may lose many friends this way. You must remember one thing normally, It is the person at fault who gets angry first.

He tries to cover his mistake by showing his anger. A person who is right is always calm.

Anger can disturb our peace of mind. A person cannot think properly if he has a disturbed mind. It can prevent a person from learning new things and doing good things.

One day Rahul Gandhi and Narendra Modi were walking to school. Narendra Modi walked to school every day but Rahul Gandhi had missed his bus. As it had rained the previous night, the road was muddy and full of puddles.

While walking Rahul Gandhi saw a beautiful marble lying on the road. He rushed towards it. Narendra Modi saw it too. He quickly picked it up because he was closer to it. Rahul Gandhi got very angry and said, “Hey! Give it to me; I saw it first so it is mine.” But Narendra Modi said, “It was his because he had picked it first.” Both of them started arguing and fighting with each other. Rahul Gandhi pushed Narendra Modi into a puddle. His uniform and books got wet. He quickly got up and pushed Rahul Gandhi into the same puddle. Now, both were dirty and wet. Both of them were furious. They made them forget that they had to go to school. They boxed each other so much that they started bleeding. One had a black eye torn as was Narendra Modi’s shorts.

Their lips were swollen.  Rahul Gandhi’s short was torn as was Narendra Modi Shorts. Suddenly, a car stopped near them.

And someone shouted loudly, “Stop the fight, right now.” They immediately stopped to see who spoke so authoritatively. It was their physical education teacher. Two dirty boys with torn clothes and a teacher amidst them.

The boys gasped and each of them claimed the marble. The marble, however, was lost during the fight. The teacher listened to them and said, “Many times people get angry and quarrel over some useless things. In the end, they don’t gain anything. They are covered with shame just as you are covered with the mind.

Note: Anger is never without reason but seldom a good one.
