The Real and Make-Believe Mom   Two women were fast friends. They were neighbors. Both were childless. That way the childless woman did not feel bad and no one could taunt her. The real mother wanted to protect her friend. But one day, the other woman turned dishonest. She spoke, “This child is mine. Both were claiming to be the real mother. Each claims the other one was an imposter. The dispute was taken to the court. The judge heard the case. The women pleaded their respective positions and the claims. It was difficult to say which one was the true mother. At last, the judge got an idea to find out the truth

The Monkey Justice Two cats were very hungry. Then, they found a piece of bread. Both staked claim over it. One of the cats grabbed it. The other suggested, Let us share it equally.” The first cat was smart. She wanted to eat the whole piece. So, she disagreed. The two quarreled over it. Just then, a monkey happened to come there. The cat requested to him, “Brother! You are our judge. We found this piece of bread. Each of us wants to eat the whole piece. What should we do?” The monkey said, “Both of you can’t have a whole of it. It should be shared equally Give me the bread. I will make two equal shares. We destroy things that we will be sorry about later. But we cannot take back what we have said or done. We may lose many friends this way. You must remember one thing normally, It is the person at fault who gets angry first. He tries to cover his mistake by showing his anger. A person who is right is always calm. Anger can disturb our peace of mind. A person cannot think properly if he has a disturbed mind. It can prevent a person from learning new things and doing good things. The Honest WoodCutter There was a very poor woodcutter. In spite of poverty, he was very honest. Once he was cutting a branch from the tree that stood on the river bank. The axe slipped out of his hands and fell into the river. The river was very deep. He could not descend into the river to recover his axe. And he was too poor to afford a new axe. He sat down to cry at his helplessness, “Oh God’ How can I earn my living now? Please get me my axe back, O, Lord.” The river god heard his prayer and he arrived there taking pity on the poor woodcutter. He spoke, “Don’t worry. I can swim.   I will get your axe. The Crow IDEA It was a hot summer day. A crow was very thirsty. The wild area it lived in had no water body. All the ponds and springs had dried up. It could not fly to another far of the jungle. But it badly needed water to drink. It flew in search of water towards a nearby town. The water was always available in human settlements. The crow saw a water pitcher placed near a tree by the side of the house. It flew down and perched on the pitcher rim.  A peep down revealed some water at the bottom. It was too below the reach of its beak. It pondered over the situation. How to get to the water? An idea struck it. It began to pick pebbles from the ground and drop them one by one into the pitcher.  The water level rose and reached a level where its beak could reach the water easily.
